Since 2009, this event has consistently served as a true measure of the evolution of Jamaican music and its contributors. The JaRIA Honour Awards stands out as a dazzling, celebrity-filled gala, dedicated to acknowledging industry icons who have played a pivotal role in the remarkable global impact of our Jamaican music culture. Our aim is to celebrate noteworthy accomplishments in a glamorous, red carpet affair, adopting the concert format with captivating performances seamlessly woven into the award presentations.

2024 Popular Vote Award Categories

Breakthrough Artiste: This award is given to an emerging artiste in recognition of their progress in the industry from a dilettante to a professional in the previous year. Considerations in determining nominees include the artiste’s impact as gauged by growth of fan base, critical acclaim, extent of touring internationally, and increased recognition of catalogue.

Song of the Year: This award is given to a Jamaican song that has attained critical and commercial acclaim locally and internationally during the period from January 1 to December 31 of the year prior to the award. The song cannot contain any profanity, discriminatory or derogatory lyrics.

2024 Album of the Year Categories

We're now accepting submissions for the Album of the Year categories for the 2024 JaRIA Honour Awards until March 17, 2024.

Criteria

Album must be of any Jamaican genre (Mento, Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae, Dancehall and Dub).
Album for consideration can be submitted by anyone (JaRIA member or non-member).
Album must contain at least five (5) different tracks (different songs, not different mixes) for a total playing time of at least 30 minutes.
Album must have been commercially released locally and internationally and available for purchase any date within the eligibility period of January 1 to December 31, 2023.
Album must be available to the public as stand-alone and/or audio-only purchases by streaming platforms, etc.
Album must be free from any publicly known copyright infringement claims.
To be eligible in a specific category, the album must contain 60% playing time of a Jamaican genre.
The Album can be submitted as a solo, duo, group or collaborative work.

A non-refundable fee of US$30.00 is required for every entry submitted.

2024 Producer of the Year Award Categories

We're now accepting submissions for the Producer of the Year Award categories: Reggae, Dancehall and Gospel, for the 2024 JaRIA Honour Awards until March 17, 2024.

This category seeks to recognize three (3) producers currently excelling in the Jamaican music industry for their exceptional contributions within the previous year.

Criteria

At least 60% of the work submitted should be easily identifiable as a Jamaican genre (Reggae, Dancehall)
Artiste and Producer do not have to be of Jamaican nationality
Submission can be either a single song or an album
Must be in-keeping with the standards held by The Broadcasting Commission
